Walking by the narrow pass of the Siq.
The Siq literally ‘the Shaft’ is the main entrance to the ancient Nabatean city of Petra in southern Jordan. Siq is a dim, narrow gorge (in some points no more than 3 metres (10 ft) wide) winds its way approximately 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) and ends at Petra’s most elaborate ruin, Al Khazneh (the Treasury)
The “Rose City” of Petra is an engineering phenomena of hand-hewn caves, temples, and tombs carved from blushing pink sandstone in the high desert of Jordan some 2,000 years ago.
