Aerial view of Caves at Wadi Qumran. Israel. DJI-0002-03

Qumran is an archaeological site located on the northwestern shore of the Dead Sea, near kibbutz of Kalya.
Qumran best known for the legendary discovery of Dead Sea Scrolls.
Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in a series of twelve caves around the site, some natural, some artificial.
The texts have great historical, religious, and linguistic significance because they include the second-oldest known surviving manuscripts of the Hebrew Bible, as well as extra-biblical manuscripts which preserve evidence of the diversity of religious thought in late Second Temple Judaism.
