Aerial view of Church of the Multiplication complex at Tabgha, and surrounding hills, fields and roads at the northern side of Sea of Galilee.

Tabgha (in Hebrew – Ein Sheva which means “spring of seven”), is one of the most visited Christian sites in Galilee, located on the north-western shore of the Sea of Galilee, Israel. It is traditionally accepted as the site of the Miracle of the Multiplication of the loaves and fishes, and the fourth resurrection appearance of Jesus after his Crucifixion.

The site’s name is derived from the Greek name Heptapegon (“seven springs”). The name was later shortened to “Tapego”, and was eventually changed to “Tabgha” in Arabic.

The Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, shortened to the Church of the Multiplication, is a Roman Catholic church located at Tabgha, on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. The modern church rests on the site of two earlier churches.
