Aerial view of Yarmouk Valley and surrounding roads and hill of Golan Heights.
The Yarmuk River (Nahar HaYarmukh in Hebrew), sometimes spelled Yarmouk, is the largest tributary of the Jordan River. It runs in Jordan, Syria, and Israel and drains much of the Hauran plateau.
The lower part of the Yarmouk Valley, close to the Jordan Valley, at the southern edge of Golan Heights, forms part of the border between Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan. Further upstream it forms part of the border between Syria and Jordan.
